The awards celebrate technological excellence across the automotive value chain and recognise companies driving innovation in engineering, software, electronics, manufacturing and future mobility solutions.
The following companies and individuals emerged as winners at the ETAuto Tech Awards 2026.
Varroc recognised for adaptive lighting innovation
Varroc won in the In-Cabin Infotainment and Connected Technology Award category.
It was honored for its Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB) Projector, a next-generation intelligent lighting solution designed to improve road safety and visibility. The system uses Pixel LED technology and advanced imaging optics to automatically mask specific portions of the high beam, preventing glare for oncoming and preceding vehicles while maintaining maximum road illumination for the driver.
The compact lighting technology enables dynamic beam control without mechanical shutters, offering higher precision, improved visibility and enhanced safety. The innovation represents a significant shift from conventional headlamp systems towards ADAS-ready intelligent lighting solutions.
Lumax recognised for digital lighting engineering platform
Lumax won in the Lightweighting and Material Innovation Award category.
It was honoured for its iLEDX Platform (Intelligent Lighting Engineering & Digital Execution Platform), a next-generation ecosystem designed to transform automotive lighting development.
The platform integrates advanced LED engineering, digital twin-based simulation, validation tools and real-time collaboration capabilities into a unified digital environment. By connecting design, simulation, tooling and manufacturing through a continuous digital thread, the platform enables faster product development, reduces physical iterations and supports first-time-right engineering.
Unlike traditional product-centric approaches, iLEDX introduces a platform-based development model that allows simultaneous engineering and seamless integration across suppliers, design teams and manufacturing operations.
In addition, C S Singh of Lumax was recognised with the CTO of the Year award for his leadership in driving technology innovation and engineering excellence.
Tenneco wins for breakthrough suspension technology
Tenneco won in the Innovative Ride Technology Award category.
It was recognised for its DaVinci Valving DCx technology, an advanced passive damping solution that addresses one of the suspension industry’s longest-standing challenges — balancing ride comfort and vehicle handling.
Conventional dampers often require a compromise between softer setups for comfort and stiffer configurations for handling. DaVinci DCx overcomes this limitation through a new fluid-control architecture that independently tunes damping characteristics across different operating conditions.
The technology delivers low damping forces during normal driving for improved ride quality and NVH performance while rapidly increasing damping under sudden loads to enhance vehicle stability and control. Importantly, it achieves this without relying on sensors, software or electronic control systems, offering performance levels comparable to more expensive semi-active suspension technologies.
Uno Minda recognised for lightweight bus seating innovation
Uno Minda won in the Seating and Occupant Comfort Systems Innovation Award Category.
It was awarded for its lightweight bus passenger seat frame technology, developed to improve vehicle efficiency and reduce emissions.
The company redesigned conventional steel seat frames using optimised high-strength steel and advanced material engineering techniques while maintaining durability, fatigue life and safety requirements.
The innovation reduced seat frame weight from 19.42 kg to 15.91 kg per unit, delivering a weight reduction of nearly 18-22 per cent. For a typical bus, the technology can reduce overall vehicle weight by around 70 kg, contributing to lower fuel consumption and reduced carbon emissions over the vehicle’s operating life.
The ETAuto Tech Awards are among India’s most prestigious recognitions for automotive innovation. The awards recognise organisations and individuals driving technological excellence across automotive engineering, software-defined vehicles, electronics, powertrain, AI, manufacturing and future mobility.
Winners were selected through a rigorous, multi-stage evaluation process led by an independent and distinguished jury comprising some of the industry’s most respected leaders, including CV Raman, Vinnie Mehta, IV Rao, Latha Chembrakalam and Seshu Bhagavathula, among other eminent experts from the automotive and technology ecosystem.
