Zoom Rolls Out New AI Tools for Workplace Automation

Zoom Communications has expanded its enterprise agentic AI platform with new workflow orchestration capabilities across its collaboration and customer-experience products, including Zoom Workplace, Zoom Phone and Zoom Contact Center, according to the company on Tuesday.

The updates introduce AI agents that can automate tasks and trigger workflows across enterprise systems, allowing meetings, calls and customer interactions to directly initiate follow-up actions without manual intervention.

“The next phase of enterprise AI will be defined by the ability to move from conversation to action,” said Velchamy Sankarlingam, president of product and engineering at Zoom. “Zoom’s agentic AI platform is designed to orchestrate action across systems, turning every meeting, call and customer interaction into a trigger for workflow automation,” he said.

The company said many enterprise AI deployments remain limited to assistants that summarise meetings or conversations but still require employees to manually complete tasks across different applications. The new platform aims to embed automation directly into collaboration tools so conversations can automatically trigger business workflows.

Expansion of AI Companion

Zoom is expanding its Zoom AI Companion with the rollout of AI Companion 3.0 across the Zoom Workplace application, business services and the employee engagement platform Workvivo.

According to the company, the update connects enterprise data, conversations and applications through Zoom’s federated AI platform to enable “conversation-to-completion” workflows. Monthly active users of AI Companion have more than tripled year-on-year in the fourth quarter of the company’s FY26, the release said.

Zoom also introduced a Custom AI Companion add-on that allows organisations to build their own AI agents to retrieve insights, automate tasks and orchestrate workflows across external platforms such as Salesforce, Slack and ServiceNow.

The company said businesses will be able to deploy prebuilt agents for functions such as sales, IT and marketing, or create their own agents and workflows using no-code tools.

AI canvases and developer tools

Zoom also introduced AI-driven collaboration tools called Zoom AI Docs, AI Sheets and AI Slides, which allow teams to convert meeting discussions into documents, data analysis and presentations without leaving the meeting environment.

In addition, the company launched Zoom AI Services, a suite of enterprise AI APIs for speech, language, reasoning and image processing that developers can integrate into applications.

Updates to Zoom Workplace

The next generation of Zoom Workplace includes interface changes and new AI features, including a central AI Companion tab for queries and workflow automation.

The company also announced Zoomie, a group assistant designed to help teams stay aligned during meetings, along with AI-powered chat features that provide topic summaries and prioritised notifications.

New capabilities include real-time voice translation in Zoom Meetings and deepfake risk detection, which can identify synthetic audio or video in meetings and alert participants.

Zoom Phone and CX automation

Zoom also introduced updates for Zoom Phone, which the company said supports more than 10 million seats globally.

New features include agentic workflows that can automatically generate follow-up emails or call summaries, and SMS support for Zoom Virtual Agent AI Receptionist, enabling customer interactions through text messaging.

The company also announced Zoom Phone Mobile, which allows users to make business calls from their native smartphone dialer while retaining AI-driven capabilities.

Contact center and sales automation

Zoom said it is expanding automation across its customer-experience products, including updates to Zoom Virtual Agent 3.0 and AI Expert Assist 3.0, which provide real-time guidance to contact centre agents and automate routine tasks.

Other additions include CX Insights, which allows customer-experience leaders to analyse interaction data using natural language queries, and customer workflow orchestration, which enables organisations to design automated customer journeys triggered by events in CRM or enterprise systems.

The company also announced enhancements to Zoom Revenue Accelerator, including AI Sales Assist, which provides real-time coaching and prompts during sales conversations.
