Workers trust judgment over tools, new AI adoption survey finds
Why experienced workers are the biggest holdout
Among respondents who do not currently use AI, more than 76% said they are unlikely to start within the next 12 months, according to Pipedrive’s data.
More than half of all AI resistance in the survey comes from professionals aged 35 to 54. These are experienced workers who hold significant institutional knowledge and leadership capacity in most organisations.
“AI has clearly crossed into the mainstream, but that doesn’t mean everyone is convinced,” said Joe Futty, chief product and technology officer at Pipedrive. “The real opportunity for businesses is showing experienced professionals that AI strengthens their judgment instead of replacing it.”
Positioning AI as a replacement for experience will deepen resistance among the cohort most capable of driving adoption from within. Positioning it as a tool that amplifies judgment is a much better approach.
