The Era of Creating Kindle Books with AI
Have you ever thought, “I want to publish my own book”?
Have you ever felt that way?
However, when you actually try to make a book, various questions arise.
“What should I write about?”
“How do I create a table of contents?”
“Is it okay if I’m not good at writing?”
Book production involves more thinking than you might imagine.
I have published about 100 Kindle books so far.
From that experience, I feel that there are many processes involved in completing a book besides writing the text.
However, recently, tools that support book production using AI have also appeared.
This time, I would like to think about book production in the AI era while also touching on tools called “GrowBookForge” and “BookForge” developed by the organizer of the publishing community I belong to.
1. What kind of work is involved in creating a Kindle book?
When creating an e-book, you might think it’s finished once you write the text.
But in reality, there are several processes.
For example,
-
Deciding on the book’s theme
-
Thinking about who will read it
-
Creating a table of contents and chapter structure
-
Writing the main text
-
Reviewing and editing the content
-
Prepare the cover and publication data
Furthermore, for Kindle publishing, you also need to check the Amazon KDP content guidelines and publication procedures.
I have also worked on these tasks while publishing about 100 books so far.
For beginners, the biggest hurdle might not just be writing the text, but the problem of “not knowing where to start.”
This is where AI comes in handy.
2. How can AI help with book creation?
For example, by using conversational AI like ChatGPT, you can brainstorm book ideas and table of contents drafts.
If the theme is “How office workers can write text using AI,” you could consider a prompt like this.
I am a beginner at Kindle publishing.
I am thinking of an e-book with the theme “How office workers can start writing with AI.”
Please propose a 5-chapter table of contents for AI beginners.
Include content that readers can actually take action on, and avoid difficult terminology.
Even just this can serve as material for thinking about the structure of your book.
However, the content proposed by AI is not necessarily always correct.
Is necessary information missing? Is the order of explanation natural? Does it differ from actual experience?
It is important to check it yourself at the end.
AI helps with book creation. But it does not take responsibility for the readers.
This is a distinction I want to keep in mind.
3. AI book production tools I am paying attention to
Recently, the organizer of the Kindle publishing community I belong to developed book production tools that utilize AI.
The names are “GrowBookForge” and “BookForge.”
They are introduced as tools that support book creation using AI.
Since I have published about 100 Kindle books myself, I am interested in new production methods.
However, I must be precise about this point.
I have not yet actually used the current book production tools.
Therefore, I cannot definitively state at this moment how much can be automated, what the quality of the finished book will be, or how much revision will be required.
On the other hand, a short introductory video by the organizer has been released.
If you are interested, please watch it as a reference.

4. I actually experienced the sister tool for creating note articles
Although I have not used the book production tool, I have actually used the sister tool for creating note articles.
I have tried two methods.
First attempt: Entering only the theme
At first, I only entered the theme of the article.
Then, the production proceeded automatically, and in about an hour, an article was completed that included not only text but also diagrams and manga.
I was surprised that it took shape to this extent just by deciding on a theme.
However, the production time is based on my own experience, and it does not necessarily mean that every theme will be completed in the same amount of time.
Second attempt: Providing a prepared manuscript
Next, I had the AI read a manuscript I had prepared myself.
Then, diagrams and manga were added while the original text was almost entirely preserved.
This was also an interesting experience.
I felt that I could use it by summarizing my own experiences and thoughts into text, and having the AI help with the task of making it visually easy to understand.
I felt that such a way of using it is also possible.
Of course, the results may vary depending on the content of the instructions.
There are ways to have AI create everything from scratch, and ways to have AI refine your own writing.
I think this distinction will also be helpful for those who are just starting to write.
Note that the results introduced here are from a note production tool, and it has not been confirmed that the same can be done with book production tools.
5. If you can create a book with AI, can you earn money as a side hustle?
This is a part I especially want to convey to beginners.
Even if AI can make book production more efficient, it does not guarantee that the book will sell.
To get people to read the books you publish, content that readers want, an easy-to-understand title, and a cover that conveys its appeal are also important.
And, fact-checking and editing the text created by AI are indispensable.
When publishing on Amazon KDP, you also need to check the declarations regarding AI-generated content, as well as copyright and publishing/sales rules.
I myself experienced my KDP account being suspended in May 2025 after publishing about 100 books.
The detailed reason for the suspension has not been clarified.
From that experience, I feel that “being able to create a book” and “being able to continue publishing activities with peace of mind” are two different things.
While utilizing the convenience of AI, I want to make sure not to forget to pay attention to quality and rules.
6. What should a beginner start with?
“It’s still too early for me to publish a book.”
Some of you might think that.
But you don’t have to complete a whole book from the start.
First, let’s think of one familiar theme.
For example,
-
Useful tips learned at work
-
Things I struggled with when starting a hobby
-
Things I wish I could tell my past self
Such experiences might also be useful information for someone else.
Once you have decided on a theme, try asking the AI, “Who would this experience be useful for?”
From there, you can think about your target reader and create a draft table of contents.
You don’t need to aim for completion right away when writing or creating a book.
Start by trying things out on a small scale.
Summary | Expand the possibilities of book creation with AI
In this article, I introduced the possibilities of AI-driven book production and the tools I am currently focusing on.
I have published about 100 Kindle books so far, and I am interested in how new technologies are changing the way books are made.
However, even with the emergence of convenient tools, the core task of thinking about who you are communicating with and what you are saying remains the same.
There may be times when your instructions to the AI don’t go well or when correcting the text takes time.
But that is also part of the learning process.
It is okay not to aim for perfection from the start.
As a small first step for today, try writing down one theme you would like to turn into a book.
That might lead to a book in the future.
I will continue to provide information on “writing, creating, and publishing” with AI, incorporating my own practical experiences.
Let’s move forward little by little, without rushing.
