Singapore Launches 200+ AI Courses to Equip Workforce for Future Jobs, ETHRWorldSEA
Singapore has rolled out more than 200 curated AI courses to help workers build practical AI skills, improve workplace productivity and prepare for AI-enabled roles.
From September 16, eligible Singapore citizens aged 18 and above who enrol in the courses will also receive a complimentary six-month subscription to selected premium AI tools, including ChatGPT Plus, Google AI Pro, Manus AI, Microsoft 365 Personal and Singtel AI Pass.
The courses, offered through about 30 Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA)-supported training providers, cover different levels of AI capability — from applying AI to everyday work and boosting productivity to developing advanced skills for AI-enabled roles and business transformation.
The initiatives were announced at the SkillsFuture Festival 2026, the first edition held under SWDA, which was formed through the merger of SkillsFuture Singapore and Workforce Singapore.
Alongside the AI learning push, SWDA launched Connect by SWDA at the Lifelong Learning Institute in Paya Lebar. The centre will bring together learning, career guidance and employment support, helping job seekers assess their career options and identify the skills needed for emerging opportunities.
SWDA also introduced OurWorkforce, a one-stop portal for employers replacing the SkillsFuture for Business website. The platform will provide access to training and workforce development initiatives, alongside customised recommendations based on business needs. Employers will also be able to use digital tools to identify transformation opportunities, redesign jobs and support AI adoption.
SWDA has partnered the Singapore Institute of Technology to develop the AI Ready Quiz, a 12-question online assessment that takes about 15 minutes. It will assess users across three levels of AI readiness and provide a personalised profile, along with recommended learning resources and curated courses.
Acting Minister for Manpower Jasmin Lau said the initiatives are intended to make it easier for Singaporeans to learn, practise and apply AI skills to real workplace tasks as work changes.
Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said AI will reshape jobs across the economy, with job content and required skills changing as careers become less linear. He said the focus should be on ensuring workers are equipped to adapt and pursue new opportunities as technology advances.
Overall, the measures combine AI training, access to AI tools, career guidance and employer support as Singapore prepares workers and businesses for changes in how jobs are performed.
