PlayStation State of Play Feb 2026: God of War, Silent Hill, MGS & More
One week after the first Nintendo Direct of 2026, Sony Interactive Entertainment aired its first State of Play of the year. The presentation ran for more than 60 minutes and focused on PlayStation 5, while confirming several PC and multiplatform releases. The broadcast delivered new trailers, release dates, playable demos, remasters, ports, DLC, service updates, and two separate God of War projects.
Konami’s lineup functioned as a “direct-within-a-direct,” Capcom returned with two high-profile updates, and PlayStation Studios closed the show with announcements tied to Kratos’ Greek saga.

- Kena: Scars of Kosmora (2026)
Ember Lab opened the show with the debut of Kena: Scars of Kosmora, a follow-up to 2021’s Bridge of Spirits. The trailer showed raw gameplay, including combat and traversal. The sequel features a more experienced Kena exploring a new land with a giant wolf companion. It launches in 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. - Ghost of Yōtei: Legends (10 March, 2026)
The first expansion for 2025’s Ghost of Yōtei arrives March 10 as a free download for owners. The multiplayer-focused DLC introduces four-player co-op story missions, a survival mode, and demonic versions of the Yōtei Six. Players choose from four classes. A raid will release in April. - Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (19 March, 2026)
The PC version of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, a 2025 Game of the Year nominee, launches March 19. The Windows PC release includes upscaling, frame generation, and DualSense support. - 4:Loop (TBA)
Bad Robot Games presented new gameplay for 4:Loop, a co-op action roguelite where four players select missions from a multi-branching grid called the Probability Map. The trailer featured a giant Rubik’s Cube boss and alien berries that teleport enemies. A playtest is planned. - Pragmata (24 April, 2026)
Capcom debuted a new story trailer for Pragmata, revisiting the derelict city first seen in its 2020 reveal. The third-person shooter includes puzzle-solving elements. It launches April 24, 2026, and a playable demo is available now. - Resident Evil Requiem (27 February, 2026)
Resident Evil Requiem releases February 27 for all major platforms. The new story-focused trailer showed Leon’s combat against zombies and explored his dynamic with Grace. It also teased Leon’s return to the Raccoon City Police Department decades after Resident Evil 2. - Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered (3 March, 2026)
The final chapter in the Legacy of Kain series returns March 3 with HD remastered visuals, upgraded gameplay presentation, a modernized camera, improved controls, and restored levels from a canceled sequel. It launches on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. - Dead or Alive 6: Last Round (25 June, 2026)
Dead or Alive 6: Last Round launches June 25 as a free-to-play update. It features 29 playable characters — 24 from the original release and five additional DLC fighters — along with upscaled visuals and a photo mode. Koei Tecmo also previewed a new Dead or Alive project in development to celebrate the series’ 30th anniversary, showing Ryu Hayabusa fighting an unnamed female warrior. - Control Resonant (TBA 2026)
Remedy Entertainment presented new gameplay for Control Resonant. The game stars Dylan Faden, the brother of the first game’s protagonist, and shows melee-focused combat and gravitational platforming in an alternate version of New York City, including Manhattan. No release date was given; more information is expected later in 2026. - Crimson Moon (2026)
ProbablyMonsters revealed Crimson Moon, a third-person Gothic action RPG. Players control a half-man, half-angel knight — described as a Nephilim — fighting demonic forces. The game supports solo and two-player co-op play and launches later in 2026. - Beast of Reincarnation (4 August, 2026)
Game Freak’s Beast of Reincarnation launches August 4 for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. The action-adventure places emphasis on the protagonist’s dog companion, which plays an equally important role in gameplay. - Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition (13 February, 2026)
The original 1995 Rayman re-releases February 13 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. The edition includes five versions of the game, developer interviews, and a 50-minute interactive documentary. - Mina the Hollower (Spring 2026)
Yacht Club Games confirmed Mina the Hollower for Spring 2026. A PS5-exclusive demo becomes available tomorrow, and progress transfers to the full game. - Neva: Prologue (19 February, 2026)
Nomada Studio’s 2024 indie hit Neva receives a prequel DLC titled Neva: Prologue, launching February 19. The base game is required to play. - Yakoh Shinobi Ops (2027)Yakoh Shinobi Ops is a four-player co-op multiplayer stealth game with top-down and isometric gameplay. It launches in 2027 and features ninja-based action against large enemies.
- Project Windless (TBA)
Krafton’s Montreal studio revealed Project Windless, an open-world RPG set in Lee Youngdo’s The Bird That Drinks Tears universe. Players control a Rekon — a powerful, dual-wielding warrior chicken — in third-person combat against enemy hordes. - Star Wars: Galactic Racer (2026)
Star Wars: Galactic Racer returns with new footage following its reveal at The Game Awards 2025. The racing game centers on pod-racing on Tatooine’s unsanctioned circuits using shabby racing vehicles. No release date was announced. - 007: First Light (27 May, 2026)
IO Interactive’s 007: First Light launches May 27. The game explores James Bond’s origin story, focusing on a younger Bond. - Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 (27 August, 2026)
Launching August 27, the collection includes Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (HD Collection version), and Metal Gear: Ghost Babel. This release marks the first-ever port of Metal Gear Solid 4 since its PlayStation 3 debut in 2008. Konami also confirmed that Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 will receive high-resolution visual upgrades and additional improvements. - Darwin’s Paradox! (2 April, 2026)
Darwin’s Paradox! launches April 2. The stealth-focused octopus adventure pays homage to Metal Gear Solid. A demo becomes available tomorrow. - Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026)
Set 23 years after Castlevania Dracula’s Curse, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse follows Trevor Belmont’s successor. Developed by Konami in collaboration with Evil Empire and Motion Twin — developers connected to Dead Cells and its DLC — the 2D action game releases in 2026 as part of Castlevania’s 40th anniversary. - Silent Hill: Townfall (2026)
Silent Hill: Townfall follows a new protagonist named Simon exploring an abandoned fishing town filled with horrors. The first-person spin-off is published in collaboration with Annapurna Interactive and launches later this year. - Rev. NOIR (TBA)
Konami introduced Rev. NOIR, an anime-infused JRPG. The teaser revealed characters and locations but no release date. - John Wick (TBA)
Saber Interactive and Lionsgate announced a new third-person action game starring Keanu Reeves as John Wick. The trailer showed Wick fighting enemies using firearms and improvised weapons, including a frying pan. No release date was provided. During the reveal, Wick said, “Yeah.” - Marathon (Launch: 5 March, 2026)
Bungie’s multiplayer shooter Marathon launches March 5 for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. An open preview “Server Slam” runs February 26 through March 2. - Saros (30 April, 2026)
Housemarque’s roguelike third-person shooter Saros launches April 30 for PlayStation 5. The game features a hub where protagonist Arjun upgrades abilities through permanent progression systems. - Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls (6 August, 2026)
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls launches August 6. A new trailer confirmed Wolverine, Magik, and Danger joining the roster alongside previously confirmed Storm. Preorders open next week. - God of War Trilogy Remake (TBA)
Santa Monica Studio is developing a full remake of the original Greek-era God of War trilogy. Original Kratos voice actor T.C. Carson confirmed the project is in early development. - God of War: Sons of Sparta (12 February, 2026)
Revealed immediately after the trilogy remake, God of War: Sons of Sparta is a 2D side-scrolling, pixel-art prequel starring Kratos and Deimos. Developed by Santa Monica Studio and Mega Cat Studios, it launched February 12 and is available now on PlayStation 5. - Brigandine: Abyss (2026)
The tactical RPG sequel Brigandine: Abyss launches in 2026 and features 100 playable classes and six main storylines.
The showcase concluded its service updates with new PlayStation Plus titles. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 joins February 17. Tekken Dark Resurrection arrives in March. The PlayStation 1 port of Time Crisis joins in May. Big Walk, an open-world co-op walking game from House House, launches directly into the service later this year. Subscribers to the Premium and Extra tiers also gain access to Neva.
