Narayana Murthy AI warning comes at a time when the job markets are facing heavy turbulence due to AI tools. To recall, Murthy also went viral among the netizens after he backed a 70-hour workweek. Narayana Murthy is a renowned India billionaire and philanthropist who founded one of India’s biggest tech companies Infosys. Smarter minds will get better productivity from AI

In a conversation with Moneycontrol, Narayana Murthy said that technology does not create an equal playing field; rather, it benefits those with superior abilities and a faster learning curve. Murthy shared his personal findings, stating, “My own experiments with using generative AI for productivity have shown me that a smarter mind will get better quality and better level of productivity from using these assistive technologies.” Infosys founder suggests that technologies, such as generative AI, boost the productivity and quality of work for individuals who use them smartly.

Young people should view AI not as a threat, but as a beneficial instrument that requires intelligent application. Murthy believes that the onus is on individuals to master these technologies, using them with continuous learning, hard work and discipline. Consequently, he added that youngsters should not be worried about AI

Perplexity Computer, OpenClaw a threat to jobs

Soon after Narayana Murthy’s latest statement, Aravind Srinivas launched Perplexity Computer, an AI-powered agent that can control a digital interface much like a human user. The AI tool can put several jobs at risk especially that involve repetitive digital tasks such as data entry, research aggregation, form submissions, report preparation and basic analysis.

If an AI agent can perform these functions continuously, accurately and at scale, companies may reduce dependence on junior analysts, research associates, operations executives and administrative staff. OpenClaw and similar agent platforms focus on autonomous task completion inside digital environments.
