Global AI, GenAI spend to cross $1 trillion by 2030: UnearthInsight

Global spending on AI, generative AI and agentic AI solutions is projected to cross $1 trillion by 2030, as enterprises ramp up investments in vertical-specific AI applications and cloud infrastructure, according to a report by UnearthInsight.
The report titled ‘Worldwide Tech and AI/Gen AI Spend Analysis’ estimates global GenAI spending will rise from $236 billion in 2026 to nearly $1.2 trillion by 2030, while the broader tech spend is expected to exceed $8.5 trillion in value over the same period.
Enterprise AI platforms are expected to account for 40 per cent of the market in 2026, while agentic AI is emerging as the fastest-growing segment with more than 80 per cent CAGR, the report said.
AI infrastructure remains the fastest-growing segment within the broader technology market, with spending on cloud services and AI-driven data centres expected to drive growth. The global tech industry is currently valued at around $6 trillion, with AI infrastructure accounting for roughly $1.6 trillion.
North America continues to dominate global AI spending, accounting for nearly 62 per cent of the market in FY26, or around $140-150 billion, followed by Europe, the Middle East and APAC.
The report also highlighted a major shift in enterprise technology budgets, with AI increasingly taking wallet share away from traditional ERP, IT services and BPM providers. In one case study of a global BFSI enterprise, AI and GenAI spending rose from 3 per cent of the company’s technology budget in FY20 to 16 per cent in FY26.
Large enterprises continue to dominate spending, with companies generating over $10 billion in revenue accounting for around 42 per cent of the enterprise AI market.
