How Bold Ideas Are Breaking Industry Conventions

Every year, our awards gives us a clear picture of what’s ahead in the B2B industry. The below insight is built on a detailed evaluation of campaigns shortlisted in the 2025 B2B Marketing Awards. Evaluated by more than 100 independent, client-side judges through a rigorous two-stage process, the analysis goes beyond just the winners to reflect the full breadth of high-performing work—offering a clearer picture of what’s driving success in B2B marketing today. One of the top trends? Unsurprisingly, creativity reigns supreme in B2B.

B2B marketing is moving beyond safe, predictable creative. Campaigns recognized in the 2025 B2B Marketing Awards demonstrate a clear shift toward bold, unconventional ideas that capture attention and drive results. By analyzing shortlisted entries—not just winners—we see a broader trend of creativity becoming a commercial lever.

As audiences become harder to engage, marketers are embracing humor, distinctiveness and emotional storytelling to stand out in competitive markets.

“No Fluff” for KellyOCG, by Radish

Bronze: Best Omnichannel Program

They don’t use enough bald animals in B2B advertising. Said no one ever. But Radish needed to ensure KellyOCG was the standout choice in a highly commoditized workforce solutions industry known for empty promises, jargon and, well, fluff.

With that in mind, Radish developed the ‘no fluff’ creative campaign, featuring a hairless herd of cats, dogs and rams. The concept brought to life the no-nonsense honesty at the heart of KellyOCG. Tapping into the psychology of standing out and Von Restorff effect to create distinction, the campaign was not only creative original and strategically focused, but commercially effective, generating $60.6 million in new opportunities.

“What Iff?” for Biffa, by bandstand

Shortlisted: Best Omnichannel Program

When you say ‘Biffa’, most people think ‘bins.’ But, when you peer behind the big, red curtain, the reality is much more varied and interesting (like the fact that, each year, Biffa turns 190,000 tonnes of plastic into recycled pellets called polymers, and that 85% of all milk bottles are made from these Biffa polymers).

With that in mind, bandstand was tasked by Biffa to create a 360-degree B2B brand campaign to tell their full story – challenging perceptions and showcasing their circular economy expertise: reducing, reusing and recycling waste to create value for their customers, and helping them leave a smaller carbon footprint. Through film, photography and a myriad of assets, the campaigns platform flexed from big, emotive spaces and stories about social value, to more specialist and directly commercial-led areas of the business.

All in all, this campaign achieved 13.5 million views and, after seeing the campaign, 87% had a positive perception change of Biffa.
