NIRF Rankings 2026: The Ministry of Education will release the NIRF Rankings 2026 on nirfindia.org in mid-to-late September 2026. Evaluating institutions across core parameters such as TLR, Research, and Inclusivity the updated framework incorporates enhanced metrics for sustainability, digital transformation, green campus initiatives, skill development, and specialized streams like Open and Skill Universities.

NIRF 2026 Ranking: The Ministry of Education is all set to release the NIRF Rankings 2026 through the official NIRF portal, which is available at www.nirfindia.org. Institutions of higher education across India will be ranked on the basis of five core parameters: Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR); Research and Professional Practice (RP); Graduation Outcomes (GO); Outreach and Inclusivity (OI); and Perception (PR). Post the completion of the submission window for Data Capturing System (DCS), institutions are now undergoing verification and cross-verification of their data before the release of final rankings.

This year’s ranking framework further enhances the metrics of sustainability, innovation, and digital transformation in light of contemporary concerns of academics. Metrics for assessment have been developed to evaluate sustainability practices, green campus initiatives, patent commercialisation, income from technology transfer, and vocational integration in line with industrial needs. Besides, the ranking framework also includes metrics for different streams, such as Open Universities, Skill Universities, and State Public Universities.
